FIPPP workshop on “Policy and Business Challenges in Realising Internet Services of the Future”

Thursday, November 21, 2013 - Thursday, November 21, 2013
Events with NESSI participation

On 21st November 2013, the Future Internet PPP will organise a workshop on “Policy and Business Challenges in Realising Internet Services of the Future”. The venue is Centre Albert Brochette (CCAB), Rue Froissart 36, Brussels.

The main goal of the workshop is to bring together the relevant stakeholders from industry, policy, intermediary organisations and research to identify policy and business conditions for achieving societal and business success of the Future Internet PPP program. The workshop will cover two central themes of high relevance in relation to FI-PPP’s impact and success, which will be approached from both policy and business perspective:
• Business ecosystem development and SME engagement for the FI-PPP’s impact and success.
• Open business models and open access policies for exploitation of the FI-PPP’s assets.

Each theme will be scoped in more detail. Barriers, challenges, possible solutions and recommendations to overcome problems will be identified. Both long-term actions, e.g. in regard to business innovation, legal, regulatory, societal, and technical conditions, and short-term pragmatic best practices actions will be considered.

The workshop is organised by the FI PPP Working Groups on Policy, Regulation and Governance (PRG) and Exploitation and Business Modeling (EBM).
