The NESSI initiated DS2 project will participate for the second year in a row at European Big Data Value Forum (EBDVF25), taking place from 12-14 November in Copenhagen. Last year, DS2 organised and led a dynamic workshop alongside its sister projects – CyclOps, CEDAR, NOUS, and PLIADES—all funded under the HORIZON-CL4-2023-DATA-01-02 topic. The session highlighted the collective vision and technical synergies across these initiatives. The outcomes are captured in a post event report available here.
This year, DS2 will host a dedicated workshop and will focus on one of the most important characteristics of data spaces: interoperability. The session, entitled “Connecting the Dots: Interoperability and Policy in European Data Spaces,” will take place on November 14, 2025, from 11:00 to 12:00 CET. It will explore the evolving landscape of interoperability and policy frameworks within European data spaces, featuring insights from DS2 and UPCAST projects. Participants will gain insights on how DS2 implements data space governance, and which is DS2’s approach to policy. The workshop will conclude with a use-case demo bringing theory into practice.
The timing of this workshop is significant given the recent enforcement of the EU Data Act which places interoperability at the centre of data spaces – the heart of digital transformation.
